The Wizard of the IPCC: Dr. Rajendra Pachauri

Dr. Rajendra Pachauri is chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) the main advisory organization to the UN on matters dealing with world climate change.

The following is taken directly from the IPCC homepage:
The Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change is the leading body for the assessment of climate change, established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic consequences.

The IPCC is a scientific body. It reviews and assesses the most recent scientific, technical and socio-economic information produced worldwide relevant to the understanding of climate change. It does not conduct any research nor does it monitor climate related data or parameters. Thousands of scientists from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC on a voluntary basis. Review is an essential part of the IPCC process, to ensure an objective and complete assessment of current information. Differing viewpoints existing within the scientific community are reflected in the IPCC reports.

It really appears on the surface like a well established organization that is a scientific body, which does not conduct any research nor does it monitor climate related data.  However scientists from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC on a voluntary basis.  Oh yea and differing viewpoints existing within the scientific community are reflected in the IPCC reports.  Hmmm, they might want to reword that last line.  Maybe it should read: Because the debate is over, differing viewpoints will not be tolerated and will not be reflected in any IPCC reports.

Dr. Pachauri has been pressing world leaders for years to address climate change concerns by implementing green energy initiatives to reduce the carbon print of humans.  In 2007 when Al Gore and the IPCC received the Nobel Peace Prize for their work on disseminating knowledge (Inconvenient Truth) about man-made change, Dr. Pachauri stood side-by-side with Gore to receive the award on behalf of the IPCC.  He has been chairman of the IPCC organization since 2002 and is also the Director-General for the Energy and Resources Institute more commonly known as TERI since 2001.  He is the person that stated, “People should eat less meat because of the level of carbon emissions associated with rearing livestock.”  Many in the global warming circle view Dr. Pachauri as the expert in this field and he has been often referred to as the leading climate scientist.  He must have a wall filled with academic credentials to back such a claim?

So let’s take a look at his academic credentials to see what qualifies him as the leading expert in climate change.  First off, he was a locomotive engineer before he left India to pursue his Masters Degree.  He obtained his MS in Industrial Engineering in 1972 from North Carolina State University.  He also obtained a PhD in Industrial Engineering and a PhD in Economics from North Carolina State University.  Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t a PhD in climatology, geology, or anything associated with the climate.  Oh wait maybe he had to take an Earth Sciences class as an elective and that’s what qualifies him.  I mean I took a Earth Sciences class in college, so I guess that must qualify me as much as Dr. Pechauri to speak on climate change.

Are you all starting to see just how painfully transparent and ridiculous this really is?  The truth is Dr. Pechauri is no more academically qualified to make assertions about climate change than any of us.  His relationship with TERI is a bit more intriguing and might provide some answers as to why he is pushing so hard for cap and trade and green energy initiatives.  Just like his pal Al Gore and his connection with companies that are developing green technologies, Dr. Pechauri’s appears to be associated with businesses that have taken an interest in IPCC policy.  These businesses include banks, oil and energy companies, and investment funds deeply involved in carbon trading and sustainable technologies.  Like Al Gore, Pechauri occupies a number of key positions within many of these companies.  To read just how deep the rabbit hole runs follow here.

So what are we believe?  I have always been a skeptic of man-made climate change because the Earth’s climate is always changing.  Science has proven that ice ages did occur, and that the magnetic poles swap every so many thousands of years.  You can find where there was once water there is now desert.  What was above ground is now on the ocean floor.  We have had massive volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts, mini-ice ages, tornados, and hurricanes in the past and present.  It has been a part of this planet since its creation and it will continue to be a part long after humanity has moved on.

The truth is I believe those pushing the climate change agenda are more concerned about money than the actual climate and trust me there is plenty of money to be made.  Dr. Pechauri is playing the role of the Wizard of the IPCC; telling all of us the things we must do to save this planet in omnipotent manner.  He is setting the ground rules for the quest we must embark on to save all of humanity.  He uses the helping nature of people and their desire to do good to push his money making scheme on the rest of us.  These people end up being the pawns of the IPCC and various other global warming organizations that see dollars in forcing us to comply.  The one thing we must remember is that in the end Dr. Pechauri is a businessman.  At least his academic credentials can back this statement.  However his house of climate change cards in starting to fall. Since the leaking of confidential climate change emails to the public, the curtain has slowly been pulled back.  And what do we see?  We see a small little locomotive engineer using smoke and mirrors trying to project an image that simply does not exist.  We see a stooge for green technology companies peddling their snake oil on a global level.

What really disturbs me the most is that this global warming hoax suckered many of our own representatives into it.  Maybe some of them were and are part of it, I don’t know.  But the fact is there is still a large majority of them willing to give up a piece of our sovereignty in the name of this hoax.  They believe they are doing what is best for this planet.  We can never allow this.  This includes the EPA. Our Constitution is the law of the land.  It protects our freedoms and liberties.  We will never find this in some international charter or treaty.  Never!

We must always be willing to support and defend it…always.  Even against global warming proponents.  Our very liberties and freedoms depend on it.

So the guy is a train engineer, that makes him just as much an expert as a PhD in Climatology. Neither know sh*t about predicting weather patterns 25 to 100 years out. Glaciers melt as they reach lower elevations(Great Lakes), and form at higher ones. Like you say ice ages come and go as do warm periods. Todays climate expects get paid by funding from governments and like most all government workers they will not bite the hand that feeds them and will tell their masters what they want to hear.

We can make the same predictions, because apparently we're just as qualified. It's all about money and the left as some on the right have been suckered in.

Any time somebody says the debate is over, then I know it isn't over, but just beginning.

As to the whole global warning boondogal, it is just that.

Thanks for the comment CS. I agree, when someone tries to close the door on debate then for me, they're trying to hide something.

Great post. It's been enjoyable to see this house of cards fall. They are discrediting themselves, and all we have to do is expose it.

Thanks for the comments Ron and Matt,
I too am glad this house of cards is finally starting to fall. I think by exposing these frauds for what they are will help it along.
