From the Radical Far Left, We Now Have the Coffee Party Movement

Well I knew it would only be a matter of time before the progressives came up with their own answer for the Tea Party Movement.  Yes that’s right, the progressives have dug down deep into their intellectual bag of tricks and came up with the “Coffee Party Movement.”  Founded by a far left filmmaker and activist Annabel Park, the Coffee Party Movement mission statement is as follows:

The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

Below is a video clip to help explain their position and why they matter:

I checked out their page and clicked the about us link and this is what I found.

We are diverse — ethnically, geographically, politically, in age and in experience.

We are 100% grassroots. No lobbyists here. No pundits. And no hyper-partisan strategists calling the shots in this movement. We are a spontaneous and collective expression of our desire to forge a culture of civic engagement that is solution-oriented, not blame-oriented.

We demand a government that responds to the needs of the majority of its citizens as expressed by our votes and by our voices; NOT corporate interests as expressed by misleading advertisements and campaign contributions.

We want a society in which democracy is treated as sacrosanct and ordinary citizens participate out of a sense of civic duty, civic pride, and a desire to contribute to society. The Coffee Party is a call to action. Our Founding Fathers and Mothers gave us an enduring gift — Democracy — and we must use it to meet the challenges that we face as a nation.

As you can see, right off the bat they know very little about our Founding Fathers.  First off they did not create a democracy; THEY ESTABLISHED A REPUBLIC!  How hard of a concept is this for the left grasp?  Can’t they remember from their history books the words of Benjamin Franklin after he emerged from the Constitutional Convention in 1787; “We gave you a Republic if you can keep it.”  Oh wait, the progressives took all that crap out of the history books, silly me.  And by the way you can forget the individual; this group appears to be like the Borg from Star Trek; one great big collective expression trying to assimilate anything in their path.  If you do not submit to the will of the collective or obstruct the collective, you will be held accountable.  It says that right in their mission statement, obstructionist will be held accountable.  Isn’t democracy just grand thing?  Just some more useful idiots that have the right to vote.  Hurray for democracy and mob rule.

That’s my two cents for what it’s worth.

Liberty forever, freedom for ALL!
