Rise of Obama’s Brown Shirts

By Jeff Mosiman

I would like to welcome Jeff Mosiman to THE CURRENT team.  Jeff and I served together in the military in the early 1990s.  He is a conservative/libertarian and teaches american government and international relations at the collegiate level.  Yes that’s right folks you heard me correctly, a “conservative” college instructor.  He considers himself a federalist and his views are in line with those of the Founding Fathers.

His first post on THE CURRENT addresses the new provisions of HR3590 that creates a civilian ready reserve corps.  As an introduction to his post, Judge Napolitano from Fox News touches on the concerns that Jeff and many of us should have with this provision; a provision that is now law of the land.

When Bill H.R. 3590 passed, our Constitution took on a whole new look.  No longer was the Commander in Chief the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy as prescribed in the Constitution under Article II Section 2, “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States”, but a new civilian army under the control of the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and called upon at the behest of the Surgeon General.

As the Constitution clearly states the President is the only member of our elected representatives to have authority over an Army and Navy including all of the symbiotic elements associated with and needed to defend our country.

The Constitution does not grant Congress the ability to create a new militaristic organization under the control of other departments.  For two plus centuries when disasters have occurred either individuals or the National Guard have been called into service.

In the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, there were only citizens banding together to save their town.

The 1906, quake that rocked San Francisco did not rely on a civilian Ready Reserve to rescue the state.

When Katrina hit New Orleans it was the Military and National Guard that restored order where politicians failed.

It is because these organizations are outside the confines of the mindless Washington bureaucrats and rely on a code of Honor, Duty and Respect that allow them to complete their missions.  This is something very few politicians have knowledge of.

The creation of this civilian army can be found in sections 5209 and 5210 of H.R. 3590.  Furthermore, section 5210 allows for the government to determine the needs of hardship areas and assign individuals accordingly.

In other words, if you are drafted (government directed medical schooling also in this bill) or enlist in the reserve ready corps the government, not the individual, will have the authority requiring that you relocate to an area of need as determined by the government.

Section 5210 subparagraph (c) states, “PURPOSE AND USE OF READY RESEARCH-“(should be RESERVE-), section 2 article (D).  It states, “Be available for service assignment in isolated, hardship, and medically underserved communities (as defined in section 799B) to improve access to health services”.

In Obama’s speech on July 2, 2008, he called for America to have a national service, “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military.  Really?  Where dear Sir does our Constitution allow for such an army?

In 1930, Hitler used his “Brown Shirts” to strike fear and intimidation into the hearts of those who opposed his party, ideology and Hitler himself.  Killing of eight Jews was just the beginning as the war of rhetoric morphed into a call for change.  Later morphing into the SS as history clearly details the destruction his private army inflicted.

While Obama claims the high road, it was his friends, cohorts and confidants that laid the foundation for Obama’s revolution.  Striking fear into the hearts of Americans in the 1960s now through the Congress.

William Ayers-part of the Weather Underground that attacked police station in the late 1960s attempting to foment revolution.

Jeffrey Jones-convicted felon for terroristic activities, former member of the Weather Underground and now a prominent leader of the Apollo Project responsible for helping craft Bill H.R. 3590.

Van Jones-self described Communist and a “Green jobs” Czar under Obama.

Anita Dunn-embraces the teachings of Chairman Mao (the communist who killed 70 million of his own people).

Saul Alinsky-wrote the book on how to collapse America and whose radical teachings mirror those of Engels and Marx.

Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel, special adviser for health care at the Office of Management and Budget-supports something called the “Live System” that quantifies a person’s worth as directly proportional to his labor returned into the economy.  The older you are the less you are worth, hence the less government health care you will receive.

Cass Sunstein-another proponent of the “Live System” and forced organ donation.

Mark Lloyd-loves the “Chavez democratic revolution” and think it would serve America well. Even suggested that individuals need to give up their employment to give other people of color a chance at power.

Marilyn Katz-has links to the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and the famous Chicago Seven trial. Supporter and fund raiser.

SDS-proposed a violent revolution of the government in the 1960s, citing a need for a Marxist revolution. Members support Obama and his plans.

Weather Underground (Ayers)-offshoot of the infamous SDS and sought to launch a race war (Charles Manson anyone) against America on behalf of the Third World.

This is but a small list of those supporting Obama and revolution through the health care bill overhaul.  While these individuals are few, they now hold considerable power over you and me; hence the passage of H.R.3590 and its implementation of Obama’s private health care army will only increase in power over us: the American public.  There has never been a governmental program that has decreased in size except the military under democratic leadership due to reduced funding.

It will start small with five million dollars allocated under section 5210 and will balloon out of control as all government programs do.  Remember under LBJ Medicare was only going to cost three billion the first year and 12 billion a quarter century later.  That program is now a just one of the reasons the United States may see bankruptcy in my lifetime if not within the next 5-10 years.

So with the implementation of Obama’s health care plan, creation of a private army “as powerful well funded and powerful as our military” loyal to him is there any reason we the American people should not fear this plan?  If you do not, then it is safe to say you will be a willing accomplice to the change that will surely befall the United States as we transform from a government voted on by the people to a government in full control of the people.

Obama told us as much when he stated, “We are five days from fundamentally transforming America”, but the question is into what.  The H.R. 3590 gave us insight into his plans.  Unfortunately the leadership in my state of Iowa has sided with the president and will not challenge the legality of this bill.

It is a sad day when those we elect to Washington and our state offices refuse to serve the people they are sworn to protect.  The Constitution clearly states Article II section 1, ”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Well Mister President, I believe the founders would have called your failure to do so, “high crimes” against America.  It is a shame that the elected representatives will also refuse to do their duties as duly elected members of Congress outlined by our Constitution.

Matt, Thanks for the comment. I consider John, as well as most of my friends from SD, brothers fighting the same fight and praying for the safety of the country as a whole. I am gald to have this opportunity to confer my opinions with everyone. There are a lot more issues I am passionate about, especially the Constitution. John is a good friend I was able to reconnect with and I am glad that it happened. Simliar souls on the same journey seeking truth, liberty and hoping to restore honor to the country.
