From Planet Schultz: Conservatives Own or Control 90% of the Media

I found this video on YouTube of progressive Ed Schultz strategizing how to get the progressive message out in an electronic media market that is 90 percent owned or controlled by conservatives.  He started off the night by insulting Tea Partiers.  He called them low information voters that are being propped up by the Glenn Becks of the world.  I guess he missed the recent New York Times/CBS News poll  that found that people that identify with the Tea Party movement are more educated than the general public.  The general public includes the uninformed Ed Schultz.  He then went on to say that the electronic media is 90 percent own or controlled by conservatives.

Now I do know that conservative talk radio seems to attract a much larger audience than liberal talk radio, but this is the free market at work.  If liberal talk radio conveyed a message that resonated with the masses I’m sure everything would be just fine on planet Schultz.  But the fact is Americans are rejecting the progressive message, to include those low information Tea Partiers.  The market has spoken Mr. Schultz.
Enjoy:
The really sad thing about Schultz is that he is so blinded by his progressive ideology; he is in complete denial about the outright rejection of progressive policies.  It’s easier just to bash people that embrace the Constitution, desire limited government, demand fiscal responsibility, and basically want government out of their lives; because the alternative is not an option.  The alternative is facing the facts and this is not a path progressives want to walk down, because they might actually see that their ideology is seriously flawed.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

I don't believe his 90% theory. I thought it was rather the opposite. Unless you are speaking exclusively about AM radio. But so what. If the lefties want to have their own programs, they can (Air America = FAIL)

"The alternative is facing the facts and this is not a path progressives want to walk down, because they might actually see that their ideology is seriously flawed."

You hit the nail on the head with this statement. Progressives base their ideas on emotions and not facts. It feels good to tell yourself that passing a huge health care bill will help the uninsured get medical treatment and lower health care costs for everyone. The facts however, tell a different story. But if one of us decides to advise them of the facts, we are accused of wanting people to die quickly.

Thanks for dropping by Opus. The problem with left wing programing is the free market. They can't compete because no one is buying their crap.

Thanks for the comments Teresa. You are so right. When you bring the facts up and they contradict what the progressives are shoveling, they throw a fit and switch the debate from substance to name calling. And they have the nerve to call us uneducated.

Sorry, I'm late in catching up with my comments. Sgt.Schultz is a perfect example of a committed leftist. They cannot question their ideology, nor can they allow this to others. As everyone has pointed out so well, they cannot withstand criticism, as their ideas are not based in reality.

So true Matt. These are people that can't stand the heat when it turned up a bit.
