Chris Christie: Day of Reckoning

Yesterday I posted an article on how there is a shortage of leadership in Washington DC these days.  I specifically addressed the President’s address to the nation and his handling of the BP gulf spill.  When I watched the address I did not see a leader, I saw an activist; a community organizer making an empty speech with no specifics.  I didn’t feel it.  When Ronald Reagan addressed the nation I felt as if he was speaking directly to me.  He was reaching out and asking me to do my part to help America.  I believed in what he was saying because it felt like a sincere and truthful call to action.  President Obama’s address felt scripted and empty.  Perhaps this is why even the left is starting to turn on him.  They’re starting to realize that unicorns and fairies are the stuff of make believe and that their progressive prince might be tied closer to the land of fantasy than the real world.  They sense they are losing the high ground and they’re about to be outflanked by reality.  They’re in this place because their party leader lacks leadership skills.
Leadership is the art of influencing people to achieve a common goal.  They inspire, motivate, do the right things, unite, and accept responsibility for their actions.  Leaders tell us the hard truth and from that marker unite the people to climb the mountain.
Below is a leader influencing people to achieve a common goal.

New Jersey’s Governor Christie is indeed a leader.  He speaks to the people and not at the people.  He lays out the hard to accept facts and talks about the obstacles they will face.  He talks about uniting all people regardless of political affiliation to tackle New Jersey’s unsustainable entitlement programs and out-of-control spending.  He paints a picture of what can be if they have the courage to stand up and face the beast.

This is leadership my friends.  I bought it, and by the looks on the faces of the people in that room, they bought it.  It almost makes me want to move to New Jersey to be part of something so special and rare in these troubled times.

It gives me hope that in America we can achieve anything and that this just might be the generation that restores the Republic and our Constitution.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

We are starting to see a few excellent potential candidates surface. It looks like the GOP will have a much better bunch than 2008.
