Americans need to start listening to Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan gets it!  He knows exactly where we are as a nation and the direction we’re heading if we don’t get our spending under control.  This is a man that more Americans need to start listening to.  He is very much in tune with the times and understands what we need to do to get ourselves back on the road to prosperity.

We know that the out-of-control spending by our government cannot continue.  And yet every time we turn around they are passing another bill that is confiscating money from the private sector to feed another entitlement program we cannot afford.  They are desperately trying to get the American people into the “nanny state” frame of mind.  The more people they can addict to government entitlement programs the lazier we will get.  We will be satisfied with the crumbs that are handed out by the federal government and and not take the risks for a better life.  I see this today with people receiving state benefits if they work under a certain amount of hours per week.  Fearful of losing their benefits they make a choice not to better themselves by finding a job that offers more hours.  Their existence amounts to scraping by with the bare minimum to sustain them and always wanting more but living with the fear of losing the crumbs they already have.  It is indeed a sad state, but one that may be in the cards for many Americans if we continue down this path.

The American “can-do” spirit will be extinguished and most will become dependent on the government from cradle to grave.  There will be few success stories because the American dream will have become a nightmare.  We will be told what to eat, how much exercise per week we will be required to complete, whether or not we are worthy of life saving drugs, what kind of political speech is acceptable, and when and where we can peacefully assemble to protest our government.  Yes this sound oppressive, tyrannical even, but it’s our future if we continue on this path of spending.  We will become slaves of the state.

This is the kind of utopian type state and individual relationship that the progressives envision.  A new form of bondage where the individual is diminished and the collective is the model for society.  It will be an Orwellian world.  Paul Ryan sees things differently.  He see an America where we will get back on track.

Below is a video clip of him addressing the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at the end of June 2010.  It’s 23 minutes long but definitely worth the watch.  This is exactly the straight forward talk Americans need to hear from their elected representatives.

This man needs to seriously consider a run in 2012.  He has a plan and conveys it in a manner that is easily understood.  More importantly he is speaking to the American people like adults and this tells me he respects us.  We need more people like Representative Ryan in Washington DC.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

When I look at the 2012 front runners, I'm worried. I hope he seriously considers running.

I became a huge fan of Ryan's during health care 'hearings'….you're so right about him. Sadly, he says his family comes first and he probably won't run for anything very big any time soon. I SO hope he changes his mind, tho I do admire his putting his family first. I'm hoping he recognizes his AMERICAN FAMILY needs him!

You know Z this is exactly why he is the right person for the job. When they asked George Washington to be President he was reluctant but he was indeed the right person for the job.

Ryan has been my guy for months now. He sealed the deal for me in the health care debate. Hopefully, he doesn't have any skeletons in his closet.

I like him too Matt. I wish he would run but has decided to live a normal life.
