Out of Control EPA to Regulate Farm Dust?

Once again an out of control government agency is attempting to regulate every aspect of our lives. This agency is the EPA and they’re now considering regulating farm dust.  You got to be kidding me…farm dust!  So what kind of penalty would be imposed on an individual for driving a car driving down a rural dirt road that kicks up dust?  Has common sense completely checked out in this agency?  This has to be one of the most absurd things I have ever heard.

The other day 21 senators signed and sent a letter to the EPA highlighting their concerns.

The letter dated July 23 to the EPA states, “If approved, would establish the most stringent and unparalleled regulation of dust in our nation’s history.” It further states, “We respect efforts for a clean and healthy environment, but not at the expense of common sense. These identified levels will be extremely burdensome for farmers and livestock producers to attain. Whether its livestock kicking up dust, soybeans being combined on a dry day in the fall, or driving a car down the gravel road, dust is a naturally occurring event.”

Many in the Oklahoma farming industry are opposed to the EPA’s consideration. One farmer said the possible regulations are ridiculous.

You can read the entire letter here.

Below is a clip of the news coverage on this story.

I think it’s time to amend the Clean Air Act and strip the EPA of any authority to create regulations without the consent of congress.  This agency is now run by a bunch of environmental activists that can’t see the forest through the trees.  Our congress crafted an unconstitutional financial reform bill to seize companies if their activities pose a threat to our economy and then sit on their hands and do nothing when the EPA creates economically destructive regulations that will kill our economy.

Can someone clue me in as to how this makes any sense?

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

I did not see this one coming. Yet, I should have. The Marxist have been at war with agriculture since the beginning. This is why so many starved in China and the Soviet Union.

Uhh, have they ever heard of the Dust Bowl? What do they expect will happen when someone is baling hay on a day when it is dry and 105° in the shade? Yep, that's right. It's going to be dusty in the hay field. What are they planning to do, have regulators going around monitoring the amount of dust a tractor kicks up? I just don't understand what these people are thinking, wanting to regulate dust. Makes no sense.

The EPA is about to assume quite a bit of power once they begin regulating cap and trade rules. This one is unbelievable, is there any doubt anymore that the government wants to regulate every aspect of our lives? Less than 25% of the senators signed this letter– not good.

I just don't understand why people refuse to see that this is the kind of garbage that Marxist do. I mean all you need to do is read just a little bit about Marxism/Socialism to know this. Thanks for stopping by Trestin

It makes no sense to you or I Larry. It makes perfect sense to the liberal mind and that is the problem! Most of America sees it the way we do, but there is that loud, ignorant, 20 percent that refuses to see anything. They call them liberals and they're in power.

That is truly a sad thing Steve when less then 25 percent of our senators signed this letter. You know what that tells me…it's time for them go! Time to vote these money stealing bums out of office.

I can clue you in to how this makes sense to the Liberal mind… Blah, Blah, Blah, IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT, Blah, Blah, Blah (repeat as necessary) its all they seem to say anymore. Somehow everything they do is, in their mind, is a way to strike back at the evil monster that is W.
