Kid In a Candy Store

by RightHandMan

Anyone else getting sick of the Obama jobs mantra? How many months have we heard the “the jobs aren’t as bad as they would have been” line? Recover Summer? If that was a recovery, then Bill Buckner still has a shot at that ground ball! How stupid does this administration think we are?

Apparently they think we’re dumber than they are, which might explain a few things. Just last week Christina Romer basically submitted that Obama’s team is all out of ideas, which implies that none of theirs worked. So where have they turned? To the “party of no ideas” – the Republicans. Now the President, just in time for elections, is talking tax cuts to stimulate the economy…How non-Keynesian.

I hate to say it again, but this is what we deserve. We elected a man who had no experience and lots of ambition. What happens when the owner of a candy store lets his kid run the shop for a while? His friends get free candy, the kid gets fat, and owner goes broke. Few of us expected anything different, but there are a lot of people who thought they were going to get some candy that are now just sitting outside the store window …wanting.

The only stronger motivation than an empty stomach is a fat man telling you that they’re taking care of you as you starve. Americans that lined up in election lines for Obama yesterday are worried about holding a plastic bowl in a soup line tomorrow. The cat is out of the bag; the government can’t take care of you. The candy store will run out of sweets unless there’s a profit made to restock …and the government doesn’t turn profits.

*Forgive me for posting my first (perhaps last) political cartoon. I hope it made you smile*

Happy Labor Day!

Isn't it a shame that Americans are so reactive, instead of proactive?

Good post, Right Hand Man. You have described the situation with the President and his economic team very well.

Did you draw the cartoon? I think it looks great. No need for it to be your last.

You're right, America did deserve this because people looked at the packaging and not what was inside. What is inside has failed America–Barack Obama doesn't have a clue what he is doing in regards to the economy. But he still continues to tell us things are getting better when everyone can see that that isn't true. He honestly believes that we are so stupid we will just sit back and believe whatever comes out of his mouth. That was possible when he was running for president, but now that people see the results nothing he says will be taken seriously any more!

Thanks for the comments. Yes LD, I did draw the cartoon – thanks for the support. 🙂

Okay, we more of the cartoons. You mind if I borrow this one for Political Realities?

Great post RHM… There's a future for you in political cartoons…

Excellent post Right. I read the article on Christina Romer and she basically admitted that Obama's team had no clue as to what to do to kick start the economy. All their prop up smoke and mirror tactics has failed to turning this thing around. Basically all the central planning and Keynesian garbage they were taught in their elite schools is useless. Now that was money well spent if you ask me.

The cartoon is great my friend. Keep them coming. Original stuff is good.

america deserved this because we elected george w. bush to the presidency — twice.

  • Anonymous September 6, 2010 at 4:32 PM

and George Bush was not even elected – not in 2000, neither in 2004…but he was necessary to get 9/11 done and the war on terror started – and in the process ruin the economy.

  • Right Hand Man September 6, 2010 at 4:56 PM

Perhaps you're right. America did deserve this for electing George W. Bush. His big spending/big government didn't help the cause either…but compared to Obama he's small peas.

…and Bigfoot to take over the oil fields in Iraq. I don't know why everyone else is so blind.

    Sure thing!

I don't know if "WE" deserve it, because I didn't vote for the dumba$$. I like the cartoon and would enjoy more of them.

Great toon RHM. Look forward to more.

I see the blame Bush crowd came to the party.

  • John Carey September 6, 2010 at 11:25 PM

They did Matt, but that's ok. As long as they bring some facts to the table I don't have a problem debating them.

  • Michael September 7, 2010 at 11:51 AM

i'm sorry, did you say something about facts?
