It started this past Sunday. I first felt the symptoms after I finished mowing my yard. My throat became scratchy and my sinuses began to close for business. By Tuesday I was digging through our medicine cabinet desperately looking for anything to relieve my suffering; from nasal decongestant to open my sinuses to cough drops to suppress my cough. You see I’m pretty much like the typical man, when I get sick, I’m dying. Now I don’t get sick often but when I do let me tell you it’s always the end of the world. Tonight I was sitting in my chair watching Ghost Hunters, coughing and blowing my nose when I turned to my wife and lashed out at her. My eye slithered her way and I blamed her for getting me sick. She had the same cold only a few days before it hit me. It must have been her! I just don’t get sick. As I rummaged around in the kitchen for something to relieve my cough I heard her say, honey it just needs to run its course. All you’re doing is temporarily relieving your symptoms with all that cold medicine. You’re not curing anything. Give it time it will run its course.
This got me thinking. She was right! No amount of medicine was going to cure my cold; I had to let it run its course. With each passing day my cold will weaken its grip on me as it runs its course. This got me thinking about Obama and his economic plan. It’s follows the same principle. Our economy is sick! He throws money at it not to cure it but to relieve the symptoms. From stimulus spending to jobs bills these are all designed to relieve the symptoms of a sick economy. And the only cure is for the Obama administration to run its course. And like my cold, with each passing day their grip is weakening.
Below is some common cold humor. Enjoy.
Time to grab my box of tissues and head to bed.
Liberty forever, freedom for all!
