President Obama stumbles around health care question

With each passing day it seems the critics of ObamaCare are being proven right.  From the impact it’s starting to have on the business community to the rapid increase in premium costs, all that was feared is coming to pass.  On the day it was passed in March of this year Nancy Pelosi carried a over-sized gavel past Americans gathered on that day to protest the bill, taunting and mocking them as she marched triumphantly to the House to fundamentally change America forever.

Only a few weeks earlier she made the below statement.

Well we are all starting to find out what is in it and it’s not good.  Today the President held a press conference and was asked a straight forward question about how the increased cost curve of reform was much higher than estimated.  After talking about the burning the Qur’an and taking a shot at the internet for the spreading of the story he finally got around to answering the health care question.  Take a look at his response in the below clip of the press conference.

Not only did he stumble around the answer but he is now lowering the expectations of a law that he sold as one of the most important pieces of legislation in our nation’s history.  He chose to kick the can down the road and change the language by looking for long-term savings instead of the immediate effects that he claimed would be felt once the bill was signed into law.  This action is a political tactic.  Lower the expectations and sell to the people the idea that this is for long-term savings.  A politician can play this tune for a long time while we the people wait for something to materialize that will never occur.  By the time the people figure out they have been duped, this guy is long gone.  Talk about sticking it to us and then not even being around to take responsibility for the mess.  The one thing I did get out of this is I think he is beginning to sweat.  He starting to experience a more hostile press that is asking more direct questions and he’s not sure how to react to it.

Notice at the end of the clip the fluff question he got from what appeared to be one who supports him.  She took him back to a place that was safe.

How I wish things were that easy in my world.  Whenever things are going badly someone would just swoop in and carry me away to my happy place.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

That will be the last press conference he gives for a long while – maybe forever. It was like watching an iceberg melt.

You point out that almost everything will be a long-term benefit. I missed that as I watched (and blogged to stay awake). That's all he has to offer, because it can't be proven. How convenient for him. Not so much for the rest of us. She DID hand him a gift!

John, I can't wait to read the books written after this is over.

ObamaCare is going to be Obama's Albatross. The more that comes out, the more that people see that Obama lied. It will be his end.

Thanks for the comment Maggie. I agree that he looked bad this conference and his handlers will probably want him back in press conference hibernation. I do believe that when ObamaCare is first defunded and then later repealed when we have a new President is sitting in the chair there will be plenty written about it. We still have hope that the courts will rule that the individual mandate is unconstitutional and that too could break it all apart.

I totally agree Matt. I think the more people see it for what it really is (redistribution of wealth) the angrier people will become at this administration and the Democrats for lying to them.

Now watch him squirm as the outrage over all the hidden provisions and taxes hits the fan next year

Indeed RR. It will only get worse when he finds that he has to explain away his lies.
