Clinton Comes to Town

by RightHandMan

I went to the University of Kentucky on Monday to see Bill Clinton come and “rally the troops” for Jack Conway. The even turned out to be more of a Clinton love fest than a rally for Conway – he was a side note, even in his own speech. I decided to talk to some of the people at the rally and see what was on the mind of those Jack Conway supporters.

I want to note that I went out of my way to talk to normal people. I didn’t talk to the hippies, the guy holding the “Clinton is an eco-terrorist” sign, or the Green Peace guys. I went for the normal individuals and asked simple questions that centered on the issues they thought were most important. I felt it was important to be honest in order to get a feel for what the mainstream democrats thought. I didn’t want to ask “gotcha” questions or embarrass anyone for a silly answer. I even deleted a few scenes from camera because they came across wrong.

I talked to 35 people, 5 of whom were willing to be recorded. The 30 individuals who didn’t want to be on camera honestly admitted that they simply didn’t know the issues well enough to be on camera. I respectfully moved on. That said, I realized the effectiveness of attack ads at this point. Over 20 of those individuals couldn’t tell me any differences between Paul and Conway regarding the issues, but they all were certain that Paul was a racist who wanted to repeal the Civil Rights Act. Couple that with the fact that they were more aware of O’Donnell’s witch comments than they were of Conway’s stance on health care.

I will let the video speak for itself, but I want to add that the individuals whom I spoke to were very gracious, kind, and honest people. I’m thankful for their cooperation. It was conformation of something I’ve believed for quite a while; most democratic voters are good people with misguided political views. Perhaps they are a bit ignorant on the issues as well – but I won’t know how that compares until I get to a GOP rally….which I plan to do soon.

Great job on the video! I found it most interesting that they seem to think teachers don't make enough but doctors make too much, both provide critical services. Where so they draw the line?

Good journalism, unlike the MSM. Its refreshing to hear questions asked and just here the responses without any spin.

It is scary how little people actually know what's going on.

Great job Right. This really allows us to see an unscripted version of how people see the issues from the left. It helps bring a better understanding. We're going to have to eventually talk ot these folks again one day :o)
