Valor and Sacrifice

When you are in your last moments of life, will you be haunted by that which you did not do?  Will you rest easy knowing the life you were given was properly invested?  Will you easily depart this world knowing that you did your duty in protecting the freedoms you enjoyed?

"I'm just glad I stepped on that IED," Williams said. "Otherwise, it would have been one of my buddies."

U.S. Army Sgt. J.D. Williams should never again question the sacrifice he has given for his country – but he probably will because he’s the kind of man that never quits giving.  It’s people like Sgt Williams that make up for our shortcomings and failures.  He’s the best of us and he both humbles me and makes me proud.

To those that have given less and more but have risked everything willingly…Thank you!

Very heartwarming post. Hollywood likes to portray our fine men and women serving in the military as crazed bloodthirsty psychos who only care about the next innocent civilian they can murder – its nice to see the true character of our fine military. People who are willing to sacrifice for their country, their family, and in this case, the fellow men on the frontlines.

Excellent first post Right. We owe these fine men and women a great deal. Let us never find ourselves squandering it.

We owe them so much. When I think of the conditions in most of our veterans hospitals, I am ashamed. They deserve the very best.
