Changing the Tone

Remember when were told about the “new tone” that was going to come in politics?  On the heels of the terrible Tucson shooting, democrats stormed all media outlets proclaiming the need for this “new tone” in politics.  Of course they didn’t actually desire a change; they only wanted to take advantage of the moment to imply that the tragedy was the fault of right wing rhetoric.

Few leftists’ panties remain unknotted after Rush Limbaugh makes a remark like, “The government’s been taking care of them [blacks] their whole lives.”  When Glen Beck asked a Muslim congressman to prove he wasn’t with the enemy, the democrats yowled.  If Ann Coulter speaks Media Matters posts her every word.  We’ve heard for the last year that the Tea Party is the nexus for all hate speech and violent tendencies.  Yet, what evidence of violence exists?

The speech of the left is always civil, which is why they don’t call people who open fire on civilians “terrorists”, or evil men who kill their citizens “dictators”.  They claim responsibility for dissolving hateful words such as “retard”, and “nigger”.  These words are not to be used…unless you’re referring to Sarah Palin’s family members, or you’re Jesse Jackson.  It’s funny when Joe Biden slips up, but a hate crime when it comes from the right.  Hilarious when Colbert and Stewart use it in satire, but criminal when talk radio makes these attempts.

The truth is the exact opposite.  Nobody and nothing is being harmed at tea party rallies.  There has been civility in spite of the media’s salivating expectations.  The left, on the other hand, has become unhinged.  The calls for Governor Walker’s death are as popular today as Bush with a Hitler mustache signs were in 2006.

The left has too often been on the wrong side of the PC push.  Any hippy-turned history professor can’t say “McCarthy” without a snarl, but is quick to play devil’s advocate with what was the murderous USSR.  When Reagan called them the “evil empire”, the nation’s liberals denounced such speech and hoped to find shelter behind the Iron Curtain; as if McCarthy and Reagan were worse in their dangerous rhetoric than Communism in their actions.

Today the innocents being murdered are not being killed by the sweeping communist regimes, but by Islamic fundamentalists.  Politicians are assassinated for standing up for freedom of religion, women are being killed for marrying outside of Islam, and other religious groups are being attacked for simply being something other than Muslim.  Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists aren’t calling for the death of the infidels, it’s “Allah akbar” that is being announced across the globe just prior to their murder sprees.

Instead of calls against such disgusting religious practices, the left, as if blind to the ACTUAL attacks, quickly stands in defense of Muslims in fear of retaliation in the form of a stereotype.  This liberal sympathy has become the refuge where radical Muslims hide and escape the cleansing light of reality.

Can any of this be more evident than the recent murder of Aasiya Hassan in New York?  A Muslim man, hiding behind the curtain of an organization he founded in order to counter the “stereotypes of Muslims” beheaded his wife because she asked for a divorce.  Of course, the police aren’t willing to make speculations about his religion or this being an honor killing.  Their unwillingness stands as a grotesque monument to one of the underlying problems – political correctness.  It seems that New York has conveniently forgotten those murdered on their soil for fear of becoming offensive to Muslims.

The truth is that their rhetoric laws only apply to others – namely us on the right.  Their civility is never extended to us, but quick to those who hate us.  It is palatable among the liberals to be pro-Islam, but suicidal to be anti-Islam.  Point out the murderous acts of Islamic terrorists among a group of SEIU members and you may learn firsthand about their idea of a “new tone”.

The new tone of civility? By that I think Libs mean “You should die” instead of “You should die now.”

This is hypocrisy at its height. It’s also why the MSM continues to lose viewership. People are looking for the truth and are discovering that truth is something that appears to be an elusive thing for the left. Great post Right.

The left uses the term “civility” as a means to stifle debate with the right. When the right disagrees with a person on the left he is accused of a personal attack on that person when in reality it is the position that person holds on an issue that he disagrees with–not the person.
This is a deliberate attempt to scare the right into giving up the debate and they do it because they know that they will lose the debate. John is 100% correct, this is hypocrisy at its height.

I cannot believe that the majority of folks cannot see what is going on..yet it appears so. Is 9 11 so long ago, that they forget those that were murdered? There was zero coverage of the King Congressional hearing on home grown terrorists. Discouraging.

No matter what we do, it will always be wrong in their minds. Any thing they do will always be acceptable in their minds.

The “tone,” and “civil discourse” were tools of the left to attack Conservatives. One that tactic was no longer useful, it was discarded. It is hypocrisy, but we shouldn’t be surprised by that. It’s standard operating procedure for the left.
