Video: Minot Flood; putting things into perspective
July 9th, 2011 | 16 Comments
Sometimes a video can put things in perspective much better than words. This video shows what the citizens of Minot are facing everyday and the long road ahead of us. I ask that you please link to this post today; not to drive traffic to our site but to show the nation what one of their cities is going through and the challenges we face. Please take the time to watch the video.

I got a sinking feeling in my gut watching that. It seems unbelievable to see whole houses and buildings underwater.
If it weren’t for this site, I would have no news on this continuing disaster. No helpless victims, no one to blame, so the press is not interested.
I continue to pray for those affected by this historic flood.

Every time I watch it Silver my stomach knots up. So much loss. You’re right about the press. No people on the roof tops of their homes with signs that read “HELP ME” so nothing to report. I feel obligated to keep as many people informed about this disaster as I can. It’s simply devastating. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes out to you, your family, and all those hurt by this disaster. I hope that you are hanging in there and I will be doing a post on this tonight.

Thanks Steve. I’m hoping we can continue to get the word out about what we’re facing here in Minot. Don’t get me wrong I’m not looking for a pity party, the people of Minot are strong and will get through this. I just think the nation needs to know what is happening with one of their cities. The MSM is long gone so no one is really reporting on this anymore and I feel obligate to get the story out. Thank you for keep us in your thoughts.

No problem John, I will be working on my post as soon as I leave here. I know that you are not looking for pity and agree that the word must get out. It is astounding to me that the media is not covering this story because for the folks of Minot this is just as decestating as Katrina was to New Orleans, and the media has not covered this story in the same manner in which they covered New Orleans.

So sad to see so many people displaced, with little chance of going home anytime soon. I can’t help but wonder why the flood is receiving so little coverage from the media. You guys are in our prayers, John. Stay safe.

Thanks Larry for the thoughts and prayers. Nothing to report when people are helping people out. I guess they need people dependent on the government.

To see the pics of all those people who are displaced due to the flooding makes my heartbreak John. It is journalistic malpractice that the Minot flood tragedy has not had more coverage in the media. The people of Minot will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Teresa. We’ll get through this, it’s just going to be painful.
