Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs
The waters in Minot have finally receded to below flood stage and with that begins the long recovery process. Littered throughout the center of the city are the pieces of its citizens lives. The smell is unbearable at best and is amplified 10 fold in 90+ degree heat. But this does not deter the people of this city. Each day they face this heat, get up with tools in hand and head for what is left of their homes, reclaiming what flood has tried to take from them. Minot has survived one of our nation’s most devastating floods in recorded history and will indeed rebuild. It will be a long hard road ahead for the people of Minot, however I’m confident they with reach their destination. They are a proud and capable people. This past week, national news was focused on the debt ceiling stalemate. The big question many of us have is can and will the Republicans stand on principle and bring an end to this spending madness. It is an unknown at this time. Below are a list of some outstanding conservative articles from the web’s best conservative blogs. You will find them extremely informative. So tee it up and enjoy another SENTRY JOURNAL round at the LINKs.

So glad to hear that the process of rebuilding the future can now begin for the people of Minot. I hope that you will be able to find time to answer the question you raised a few weeks ago about whether the Corps of Engineers intentionally allowed this disaster to happen.
Thanks so much for the link, John. Stay well, my friend.

Thanks for the link John. Silverfiddle makes a great point; if the GOP in Washington were as strong as the people of Minot I wouldn’t be worried about them, but I am. I am so glad to hear that the waters have receded, it sounds as if the worse is over and people can finally start trying to put their lives back together.
Steve Dennis recently posted..The man who assassinated Kazai’s brother was a CIA informant

Six of our employees lost their homes up there, our building, while not flooded had 8″ of raw sewage in the basement causing a odiferous stench, and all seem to be handling it much better than I could. My hat is off to all the folks in Minot, including you John! Thanks!
RandyG recently posted..When You Have Had Enough
Thanks Randy. There has been a number of homes and businesses that had backed up raw sewage in their basements. Many of them plugged their drains, but the pressure was so strong it blew the plugs out. My plugs are still holding.

I think one of the worst disasters is a flood. I’ll take a tornado any day, although it is definitely more difficult to get away with your life. The muck that is left behind on your dearest and precious belongings has to bring deep despair. John, the people of Minot will outshine our chambers of Congress who know not of courageous and disciplined desperation.
Thank you so much for including me in your article round-up. Sentry Journal is a wonderful work.
