Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs

This past week was a very light posting week for us.  Life sometimes has a way of filling up our days leaving us very little time to do things we love.  Recapping last week’s news, Newt Gingrich continued to surge in the polls while Herman Cain continued to slip.  Ron Paul has made some significant gains in the polls.  His rise has been slow and steady..  Mitt Romney’s support still remains at about 20 percent with very little movement up or down.  The rest of the field has single digit support.  On the”Super Committee” front, it looks as if they’re going to play this game of smoke and mirrors out to the end, putting their on their show for the politically challenged.  I’m sure in the upcoming week  the MSM will help advance the narrative of an end of the world scenario playing out if something doesn’t get done.  I mean they have already laid the groundwork to run with this.  Here’s what it comes down to.  This unconstitutional body was created to shave off $1.4 trillion in spending  off of a projected $10 trillion in spending in the next 10 years.  If they can’t agree to reduce spending by $1.4 trillion by the 23rd of November then so called “draconian” cuts in defense spending and entitlement programs will automatically kick in after the 2012 elections.  A new congress and new senate will be sworn in and possibly a new President.  So as you can see this is nothing more than political theater being played out for the ignorant electorate.  It’s pathetic.  The last bit of news for the week is a Balance Budget amendment was voted down in the House late in the week.  The amendment put forward did not reduce and cap spending.  Instead it balanced the budget by leaving the door open to raise taxes to balance the budget expanding the size of government and removing more money from the private sector.  It was a sham of a bill designed to appease Tea Party groups and give the appearance that the Republicans were serious about balancing the budget.  How stupid to they think we are.    And they wonder why congress has such a low approval rating.

That wraps up last week’s news.  Once again the conservative bloggers below did an outstanding job reporting what the MSM has ignored.  Below are some links to some great posts by these bloggers.  So tee it up and enjoy another SENTRY JOURNAL round at the LINKs.
