Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family.  I’m going to steer clear of my usual recap of the past week’s news and share with you my “Black” Friday experience.  The wife and I decided early in the week we weren’t going to rush to the stores for all the door-buster sales.  We learned a few years ago that many stores hold back some inventory and restock later in the morning.  So we headed out around 8:30 AM after the midnight and 4AM wave of shoppers subsided.  We found everything we were looking for at the sale price with less crowds and and smaller lines.

Overall our “Black” Friday adventure was a good one; however there were a few things I encountered that rubbed me the wrong way.  First off, when people are looking for a parking spot, they need to make sure they are going down the lanes in the right direction.  I know there are times when there are no arrows to show the way, but if people would just look at how the vehicles are oriented in the parking lot, they should be able to quickly identify the direction of the parking.  Secondly, once people park their cars and get out to walk to the store, they should not walk in the middle of the parking lane.  They need to pick a side.  It’s not only safer for them, but it allows for the free flow of traffic down the parking lanes.  And lastly, I saw a large number of people using Target carts as their personal cart throughout the mall.  Many mall stores do not utilize carts and their aisles are not wide enough to handle cart traffic.  If the cart belongs to Target, then that’s where it should stay when the shopper leaves the store.  Especially when Target has signs telling the customer not to remove carts from the store.  When a person does this, it’s not only inconsiderate, but it’s also theft in my opinion.  Those are a few of my “Black” Friday tips to help make future ones are an enjoyable experience.
