Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs

Well yesterday the Cain Train was finally derailed when Herman Cain announced he would be suspending his campaign.  Now I can’t tell whether or not the claims levied against Mr. Cain are true or false; however I can tell you that the left leaning media is more than willing strip search our candidates over unsubstantiated allegations while they still continue to give Obama and his administration a free pass on massive scandals like the “Fast and Furious” and Solyndra.  I wish one of the candidates would stand up and shine the light on the hypocrisy of this.

Other news from the past week included an attempt by (R) John McCain and (D) Carl Levin to add vague language to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which many groups to include the ACLU believed would allow for the indefinite detention of American citizens by the military if suspected of supporting terrorist organizations hostile to the United States and its partners.  Senator Rand Paul made a powerful argument against the McCain/Levin amendment stating our liberties would be sacrificed.  His efforts paid off and a compromise was finally reached to protect the rights of each citizen.  This was a big win for individual liberties and the constitution and we have Rand Paul to thank for it..  On a side note, once tea party champion, now establishment lap-dog Marco Rubio voted in favor of the original wording.  He has been officially co-opted by the establishment and his journey to the dark side is complete.   And this is why it will be so difficult change the way business is conducted in Washington folks.  We believe we are sending rock solid conservatives to DC to make a difference and we end up with the same old garbage.

I had the opportunity to make my own rounds this past week and once again I’ve highlighted some of my favorite articles from the conservative blogosphere in the links below.  I encourage you to take the time and visit these outstanding sites.  They continue to do the work the MSM fails to do.  Enjoy another SENTRY JOURNAL round at the LINKs.

Check out Rand Paul fighting for our liberties and constitution.  We need more like him.
