The Best of “The Plain Truth” 2011 & my New Year’s resolution

Below is the best of Judge Napolitano’s “The Plain Truth.”  It’s about 43 minutes long but as always it’s well worth the watch,  At about the 22 minute mark, he makes a great comparison between the Roman Empire and America.  It’s really informative and worth a look.  When the FED Chair talks about QE1, QE2, and QE3, he’s talking about actions that devalue our currency just as they did during Roman times.  Enjoy the clip.

This was a snap shot of just how far we have drifted away from the Constitution in the last year even with a Republican controlled House.  The last I checked the constitution is still the “Law of the land” and as the “Law of the Land” is supreme and enforceable.  So this brings me to my New Year’s resolution.  It very simple and easy to do.  Every time my elected representative votes for a bill that grants the government powers that clearly does fall within their enumerated powers granted by the constitution, I’m going to email my Senators and Congressman expressing my deep concerns.  Additionally I will also contact my state representative to express my concerns about our elected representatives in DC usurping the authority granted to the states by the constitution.  I’m sick and tired of our constitution being used as a doormat for our elected officials to wipe their feet in.  It’s time to stand up and defend the document that protects our individual liberties.  It’s time for each of us to call out our elected officials when they ignore this powerful document that limits their ability to infringe on the unalienable rights of the people.. This mindset also applies at the state level when bills are passed that clearly violate our “Natural Rights” protected by our constitution.

Our founders created the framework in the constitution that provides each us the tools needed to voice our concerns when we feel our unalienable rights are being violated.  Isn’t it about time we actually start using them?  I’m tired of waiting for the next election in the hopes we will elect another so-called constitutionally minded politician who will actually stick to their word.  I’m tired of putting all my eggs in this one basket.  Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.  Liberty is worth fighting for and It’s time we step up and fulfill our duties as informed citizens by contacting our elected officials and voicing our concerns when our rights are being violated.  We can no longer take an apathetic approach in regards to our constitution. We’ve been asleep at the wheel for far too long and it has cost us a great deal in terms of liberty lost.  There are forces out there who view the constitution as nothing more than a bump in the road and will use the ignorant and uninformed to advance their agenda so they can get around it.  It’s time to remind them we’re not going to stand by anymore and allow them a free pass; we’re going to save the republic and in the end save them.

Here is the link to contact your elected representative or senator.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!
