Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (Father’s Day edition)
Its been five and a half years since my father passed away and I still deeply miss him. He was an anchor in my life when he was alive; always there to steady my life with words of wisdom when it was getting out of control. My father could do just about anything. From building the home I was raised in to hunting and fishing. From working on complex components for military aircraft to rebuilding a car engine, my dad was a jack of all trades or as I called him a modern day renaissance man. He was an extremely intelligent man with a whole lot of common sense. One of his greatest attributes was his love for his family. He always placed the needs of our family above his own and never once complained about it. Growing up he never missed a football game I played in. He always took me fishing and hunting with him. And he NEVER solved my problems for me; he allowed me stumble and fall. He felt the best way I could learn about succeeding in life was to feel the pain of my mistakes; tough love. He didn’t believe in hand outs but he was always there to pick me up if I fell too hard. He was a man with a mile of integrity who always did the right thing, even when people weren’t watching. He was the man I trusted most in this world. So here’s to you dad. Thank you for being you and for helping me become the man I am today. You have forever left your imprint on me. And it’s a good thing. Here’s to all the other fathers out there on this day. Understand the role you play in the family unit and be the anchor for your family when life’s water become choppy and uncertain. Now on to the links.
Below are some links to outstanding conservative articles. If you want to be in the know I highly recommend that you take the time to visit these links. No John, you are the heat! Thanks for the linkage, my friend.
I pretty much feel the same way about my dad that you do about yours. The man was an idiot when I was 15. It took about 7 or 8 years, but all the sudden he became a genius, and has remained that way since. Amazing, isn’t it?
KingShamus recently posted..Obama’s Private Sector Gaffe, Explained In One Picture
It is amazing. When you’re 15 you know everything. It’s only when you leave home and set out on your own that you realize just how little you really knew and how spot-on your dad was. That’s what they call the circle of life I guess. You’re very welcome for the link my friend. Keep up the great work.

Thank you for the link. It’s an honor to be included. I, too, was blessed with a remarkable father. His was the American story. Arrived on these shores speaking no English with no prospects. Learned English and became a successful businessman and a wonderful father. He loved this country deeply. I miss him, but I am glad he didn’t live to see what has happened to it.
You’re very welcome Marcia. It sounds like your Father found the American Dream. Great story. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Father’s Day, John! Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I am sorry about the loss of your father, I lost mine in 2001 and it still hurts like it happened yesterday. Dads are so important, they live forever in our hearts no matter how much time passes since we last got to be with them.
