Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (Take Back Liberty edition)

The constitution took a beating this past week.  First with the Arizona ruling on Tuesday then with the Obamacare ruling on Thursday.  Both high profile cases were closely watched as many experts believed the SCOTUS would not only strike down the individual mandate in Obamacare but would kill the terrible law in its entirety.  Sadly that was not the case.  Conservative Justice Roberts jumped shipped and sided with the four Justices on the left and interpreted the penalty as a tax making Obamacare constitutional.  Remember that day and how you felt when the unthinkable became a reality.  It should have never come to this point.  It should have never been left in the hands of the SCOTUS to defend our liberties.  WE should be the defenders of our liberty and we failed.

We failed to elect people of good character and integrity.  We failed to hold them accountable when they imposed their will on the people even though the majority did not want it.  It’s strange how health care was not a major campaign issue in 2008 yet became the President’s and the Democrats number one priority when they gained control of two out of three branches of government.  They crammed their leftist utopian mandate down our throats with backroom deals, procedural chicanery, bribes, and outright lies and there was nothing we could do to stop it.  Taking over our healthcare system has been a dream of the left for many decades and in 2009 they saw they had an opportunity to make their dream a reality.  This happened because we failed.  Now one-fifth of our economy is under government control and life and death decisions will be made by Washington bureaucrats and not the doctors on the front line.  This is the reality we chose for ourselves because when we had the opportunity we failed to weed out those who would legislate our liberties away.  The SCOTUS ruling only reinforced the notion that if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself.  On June 28, 2012 individual liberty was dealt a serous blow. Burn this date into your mind.  Remember those elected representatives and senators from your states who supported and voted for its passage.  Hold them accountable for their actions at the ballot box and don’t allow them to spin their way out of the role they played in stealing your individual liberty.

When the sun rises on November 7, 2012 these supporters of tyranny should be looking for a new job.  And if they are not, we only have ourselves to blame.  Rally around this date and make November about taking back liberty and limiting the role government should play in our lives.  Do we want a government that can’t balance a budget, oversee the postal service, manage Medicare and Social Security, that was responsible for the housing crisis, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, that has failed to protect our credit rating and the value of our dollar deciding life and death health care issues for us.  HELL NO we don’t.  It’s up to us.  The ball is in our court and it’s time to pick it up and run with it.  It’s time for us to reach out to our friends, our family members, and our neighbors and like Paul Revere spread the word that the enemy of liberty is at the gates and we must all rise up to defeat it.  There is much work to do, but I’m confident that we will prevail.  We will overcome.  Remember June 28, 2012 and turn it into something positive for America.  Take back liberty on November 6th and vote out those who supported this terrible law.  If you do, you will be able to look your children, your friends, and your family in their eyes and say I did my part to restore liberty and reestablish the constitution for the future.  Now on to the links.

It’s liberty week and I feel the below excerpt for our Declaration of Independence is appropriate.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
