Isn’t it incredible that many people want to politicize this subject. They reduse to look at the simple truth that if we we don’t fix it now, in fifteen or so years there will be nothing for anybody. It really is that simple.

  Indeed Jim. I heard some politician the other day say the only way they fix this is when the pain of not fixing hurts more. Typical.

I have a bit of a different take. We spend trillions elsewhere, all over the world, in 150 countries. We are accepting the premise that we cannot afford healthcare and social security. I suggest this is a false assumption. We need to build the best defense system in the world, do what we can do to help the world, but from here out, Americans first. Welfare folks, get off the butt and we will supply work if you refuse. Something like this.

  I agree Bunker. However I have always believed that programs like SS and Medicare are unconstitutional and before we cut other government function these programs should be eliminated. But my opinion is not the popular.

Another great one from the Judge, when are people going to realize that something needs to be done and when are politicians going to find the courage to do something. That is what I admire about Paul Ryan, he is one of the only ones who has stood up and but a plan forward to deal with this issue, we need more men like him.

I give kudos to Paul Ryan for trying to tackle the problem of social security. We need to make adjustments or fix social security in some way very soon or there won’t be anything left for anyone. Steve is right. We do need more politicians who are like Paul Ryan.

  I give Paul Ryan a great of credit Teresa. He had the courage to address these problem even though he knew he would be hammered for it. That’s leadership.
