Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (Demagogue edition)

We all know people who are good at telling a scary story.  My childhood friend was a master at it.  He would draw in his audience and force them to emotionally commit to the story, then at the right moment when all were immersed he would spring the trap and scare the crap out of them.  President Obama reminds me of this friend.   He knows how to spin a tale, appeal to the emotions of the uninformed masses, and then scare the crap out them in hopes it will force them to act.  He’s masterful at playing to the prejudices and emotions of people in order to advance an agenda and hopes he can get buy in of constituents of conservative representatives.  This past week he predicted all kinds of terrible things would happen if sequestration was allowed to happen.  And he’s emboldened to make these predictions because he knows the mainstream media will do nothing to remind the people that it was the President who signed sequestration into law.  The media is more concerned about getting a picture of him and Tiger Woods together and finding out how their golf game went than with calling him out on the sequestration deal.  It’s disgraceful and irresponsible.

President Obama is a demagogue with a capital “D” and there’s nothing he won’t say or do even if it contradicts himself to advance the left’s agenda.  It’s about creating the illusion of a crisis that will topple America as we know it if we don’t act now.  In the end the sequestration does absolutely nothing to address the real issue which is the exploding cost of entitlements.  In the next four years entitlements are expected to grow by $700 billion and are currently 67 percent of the total federal budget.  And nothing in this sequestration addresses this problem.  This is just crazy and the President wants you to believe that the $85 billion in reduced spending called for in the sequestration is going to bring about the apocalypse.  Lack of entitlement reform is what’s really the apocalyptic moment he’s talking about.  And if we don’t address entitlement reform very soon we will all feel the pain and it won’t be pretty.  But the President wants you to freak out and buy into his sequestration doom and gloom take so you will contact your Senator or Representative and demand action.  If our elected officials don’t start doing what’s right for America and continue to use demagoguery type tactics to scare the American people then come 2014 we need to vote them all out no matter what party they’re in.  You can read more here.  Now on to the links.
