Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (WORK edition)

maine-golfing

I thought I would use today’s link edition to talk about what I’ve been up to for the last month.  First off I had to drop the class I was taking because the math was too much.  I never claimed to be a math wizard and I knew it could be a major obstacle for me in regards to the class if it was too math intensive.  It was not an easy thing for me because it’s not in my nature to quit.  Secondly with all the extra time on my hands because of the DoD furloughs, I decided it would be a good time time to tackle some major projects around the house.  So for the last month I’ve been working my butt off and I must say its been great.  Pulling my head out of the world of politics and working with my hands has made me realize how much I missed this kind of work. My grandfather’s and father’s work ethic were rock solid.  They both believed that hard work was not only fulfilling, but it was good for the mind, body, and soul.  How right they were.  Both my father and grandfather believed in the motto and honest day’s work earns an honest day’s pay.  My grandpa worked up until he was 75 years old and passed away the way he wanted to; while working and wearing his work boots.  My father worked hard his whole life, believing that nothing in life came free and that hard work was linked to happiness and a sense of fulfillment.

My grandfather detested those who collected welfare because he believed that if you could get up out of bed each day and do for yourself, you could work.  He believed people like that were lazy and like leeches sucking the state dry.  And my grandpa wasn’t much for people making excuses as to why they couldn’t work.  We’re talking about a man who survived four heart attacks and at one time in his life drank a bottle of Coke that had pieces of glass in that tore up his insides.  I started working at a very young age on the farm.  During the summers I would hay for three or four different farmers in the area.  It was incredibly hard work in the smoldering, humid, Pennsylvania summers.  When I look back at those days all I can remember is the sense of satisfaction I had after s long day’s work.  I was also in the best shape of my young life.  My point is there is nothing wrong with hard work.  It does a body good.  Being outside working has reminded me that work is indeed good for the mind, body, and soul.  Now on to the LINKs.

Below are links to outstanding conservative/libertarian articles.  Please take a few moments today to hit them and while you are there hit their tip jars if they have them.  These fine people work hard each day to bring you the stories the MSM ignores.  They work hard to bring you the truth.  So tee it up and enjoy another SENTRY JOURNAL round at the LINKs.
