Winning in 2012 is about generating excitement

How many of you are really excited about the current collection of Republicans who are expressing an interest in running in 2012?  With the exception of Herman Cain and Ron Paul almost all of them are big government center right politicians.  These are the same type of establishment politicians we complain about on a daily basis in our post.  They are the middle of the road lukewarm brand the Tea Party movement is rallying against and yet we’re being steered in the direction to support a Mitt Romney or a Mike Huckabee.  I just watched Sean Hannity with Dick Morris and not once did Morris mention Herman Cain or Ron Paul as serious candidates who could beat Obama.  Instead he talked about Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Mitch Daniels, and Newt … Read entire article »

Hey guess what…elections do have consequences

This year so far has been a rough one for our Constitution, individual liberties, the free market system, and pretty much for the survival of our Republic.  The Obama administration along with Democrats in the Congress has decided that they know what’s best for the American people.  Since then the mindset of the majority party has been damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.  It started with the partisan passage of the Health Care Reform Bill that penalizes people with a fine who choose not to sign up for a plan.  However the Obama administration is now calling it a tax instead of a penalty even though nowhere in the bill does it say tax.  This was done to counter the Florida lawsuit by claiming that the government has the right to impose taxes and Florida can do little to … Read entire article »

The Centrist

Caught between conservative and liberal political ideology is a creature called the centrist.  The centrist is one that finds comfort in the middle of the political spectrum.  They have been labeled as Blue Dogs, RHINOS, Independents, Moderates, and Fence Sitters.  They steer clear of the far left and right and are bi-partisan in nature.  They are tired of the political games in Washington and believe that the best solutions come from both sides of the isle.  Both parties can’t stand them, yet both need them to win.  They are nomadic wanderers in a political desert, searching for a place to call home.  So why is it so important to understand them and the role they play in today’s political landscape?  The simple answer is because centrism sells.
