I think President Obama’s team watched this “How To” video

Yesterday the President announced it’s time to narrow the scope of the drone campaign against al Qaeda and its allies, close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay and oh yeah bring an end to the 12 year “war on terror”.  Quite the round up of controversial topics to bring up from an administration that’s up to its arm pits in three major scandals.  One might think they are trying to change the subject.  Perhaps the President’s team has watched the below “How To” video. By the looks of it Jay Carney may have watched this video.  He has practiced these techniques more than a few times during his daily White House press briefings.  Or you can take the direct approach by invoking your 5th amendment right during a hearing in which … Read entire article »

Economist Pete Morici: “The President sets a terrible standard by his own conduct.”

Economist Pete Morici was on Fox and Friends yesterday morning and ripped President Obama and his administration for the “know nothing” narrative they’re trying to push in regards to the three major scandals enveloping them.  He stated that the President has set a terrible standard by his own conduct.  Check out the below clip. Leaders in any organization set the tone through example and their enforcement or non-enforcement of the standards.  When a leader’s example sets a terrible tone in an organization this is this tone their mid to lower level managers will feed off of.  They will have their template as a model for all their actions.  President Obama is the leader of the Democratic Party.  He has set the tone for the Party and that tone has been extremely … Read entire article »

This is the type of government our founders rejected

We need to get back to the basics as a people.  With all the scandals, corruption, attacks on our gun rights, attacks on our free speech, attacks on our faith, ignoring the constitution, crushing taxes, usurpations of states rights, suffocating regulations, and government using its institutions to threaten and impose its will on the people we need to find our way back to liberty and reject tyranny.  Take a good look, because this is what a soft tyranny looks like and we own it!.  This is the type of government our Founding Fathers rejected and we too should reject it.  236 years ago our founders stood against the type of despotic government we have today and eloquently listed their grievances against the Crown in the Declaration of Independence. We hold these … Read entire article »

Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (Demagogue edition)

We all know people who are good at telling a scary story.  My childhood friend was a master at it.  He would draw in his audience and force them to emotionally commit to the story, then at the right moment when all were immersed he would spring the trap and scare the crap out of them.  President Obama reminds me of this friend.   He knows how to spin a tale, appeal to the emotions of the uninformed masses, and then scare the crap out them in hopes it will force them to act.  He’s masterful at playing to the prejudices and emotions of people in order to advance an agenda and hopes he can get buy in of constituents of conservative representatives.  This past week he predicted all kinds of … Read entire article »

Government and the permanent income classes

The other day I was having a conversation with an individual who like many on the left believes the rich needs to pay more in taxes.  When I asked why he believed this, he responded, “Because they can afford it and it’s the only fair thing to do.”  So my follow-up question was why can’t we afford it?  I could see the question caught him off guard.  He asked me to explain what I meant.  I said, “Why has it become more difficult for us to achieve success so that one day we too may reach the tax bracket you are proposing for the rich.”  I could tell by the tilt of his head and the perplexed look on his face he was struggling to come up with a rational … Read entire article »

Don’t be surprised if the President doesn’t address the “State of the Union”…be shocked if he does

Tonight the President will give his “State of the Union” address and nothing he says will address the “State of the Union.”   He will talk about his agenda.  He will criticize his opponents.  He will touch on every hot button issue except the issue he is there to report on; the “State of the Union.”  The truth is we the people already know the “State of the Union” because we feel it every single day. For the first time in my working career I took a pay cut this year when the payroll tax went up.  Gas prices are at their highest level ever for this time of the year.  Our national debt is rapidly approaching $17 trillion with no plan in sight to address it.  Unemployment is still near eight … Read entire article »

Obama: “It’s the right thing to do for the country…”

Most of you already know that in the early morning hours on this 1st day of 2013 the Senate voted to increases taxes on wealthy Americans while making the current tax rates on the middle class permanent.  For every $41 dollars in revenue generated in taxes there is $1 dollar in spending cuts.  Nothing and I mean nothing with the national debt was addressed.  Out of control spending was not addressed.  Florida Senator, Marco Rubio hammered this point home when he said, “Thousands of small businesses, not just the wealthy, will now be forced to decide how they’ll pay this new tax and, chances are, they’ll do it by firing employees, cutting back their hours and benefits, or postponing the new hire they were looking to make.  And to make matters … Read entire article »

No more secret deals: It’s time for conservatives to put Obama on defense

I’ve been saying for some time now that John Boehner must go.  And it finally looks as if there’s some momentum in congress to make this happen in the aftermath of the “Plan B” fiasco that occurred this past Thursday night and the purging of fiscally minded conservatives from key committee positions.  After two years of leading the Republicans to a place called nowhere, Republicans are now beginning to see the damage that Speaker Boehner is doing to the party.  In fact over the last two years Boehner has predictably caved in on every major spending issue that he has had to face.   You can read about the move to unseat Boehner over at America’s Watchtower. President Obama has used Boehner’s predictability against Republicans.  He has been able to shape the … Read entire article »

Obama’s mob…he owns it!

Yesterday our community organizer in-chief traveled to Michigan and did what he does best;agitate the agitators who will do his bidding.  Again check out the below clip to see the master manipulator in action. What we’re seeing is the President of the United States inject himself into state matters,  Even though he knows he has no authority to change anything in this arena it doesn’t stop him from tapping into the emotions of the mob.  His words as misguided and irresponsible as they were evoked the anger of the mob.  And today it played out in Lansing Michigan. This anger led to an assault on conservative activist Steven Crowder. Mr. President you own this!  You are just as responsible for the assault on Mr. Crowder as the thugs who actually hit him.  This … Read entire article »

President Obama and mob rule

In the latter days of the Roman Empire it was mob rule that guided Rome to its eventual demise.  Emperors remained in power for as long as the mob was entertained and distracted.  Emperors recognized the power of the mob and used it to increase their popularity and gain support for radical reforms and much like the Roman Emperors of old who used the mobs to advance their agenda today very little has changed. America stands on the edge of a fiscal cliff.  There is gridlock in Washington and both sides appear to be unwilling to compromise.  Where is President Obama?  Why isn’t he in Washington leading?   Because Obama recognizes the power of the mob and he’s still in campaign mode traveling around the country stirring the mob up.  Check out … Read entire article »

The 3rd Presidential Debate: One candidate looked Presidential, the other looked small and petty…

Well the final Presidential Debate is over and I must say one candidate looked Presidential while the other looked small and petty.  One candidate looked confident and steady while the other looked desperate and out of ideas.  Mitt Romney made a conscious effort in this debate to rise above the cheap shots and lies and discuss the issues with a big picture focus.  At first I thought this was a bad strategy because I’m the type of person who believes you need to stand toe to toe with your opponent and hit back when they hit you.  As the debate unfolded I began to see how wrong I was.  Mitt Romney steered the debate in the direction he wanted it to go; back to the economy.  He pointed out how … Read entire article »

The 2nd Presidential Debate in its entirety

Below is the 2nd Presidential debate in it’s entirety.  Enjoy. My only input for now is that Republicans need to do a better job in getting involved in the vetting process of these moderators for future debates.  It was apparent by Candy Crowley’s comments back in August about a Romney/Ryan ticket being a “ticket death wish” she was in Team Obama’s corner.  That should have been a disqualifying factor for allowing her to moderate this debate.  She validated her support for Obama by allowing the President to gain a time advantage of almost four more minutes during the debate and by bailing him out when Romney questioned the President’s Rose Garden comments the day after the attack.  She shut Romney down by telling him that the President indeed called the Benghazi … Read entire article »

The Big Picture: Joe Biden’s debate performance accomplished Team Obama’s goal

Sometimes we get lost in the details and lose sight of the big picture.  The other night I watched the VP debate and like many of you on the conservative side was appalled by Joe Biden’s mannerisms and unprofessional behavior. His condescending attitude, interruptions, smirks, and distortion of the truth made watching the debate very difficult.  I had never seen such a display of disrespect for an opponent as I did during the VP debate.  I was angry.  I was angry at the moderator for allowing it to happen and angry at Biden for sinking to such depths. From a conservative perspective I thought Paul Ryan did well.  Unlike his opponent Ryan owned the facts and did his best to convey them when he wasn’t being interrupted by the moderator and … Read entire article »

Informed Voter: When trust collides with reality

When Barack Obama was elected in 2008 people threw their support behind hope and change.  They placed their trust in Obama to usher in a new age of bipartisanship and unity.  After all he was the man said who said we were all Americans no matter whether we came from blue or red states.  People were inspired by his words and believed he would reduce the debt, save the economy, end the wars, and change the way business was conducted in Washington.  They chanted “yes we can” and embarked on a quest to get the man who would be America’s savior elected. Not only was Obama elected but the people gave him a super majority in congress to achieve his goal of the fundamental transformation of America.  Four years later we … Read entire article »

The consequences of electing leaders with little or no virtue

Samuel Adams once said, “If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.”  Now more than ever these powerful words ring true.  In the aftermath of the first Presidential debate we see the works of these vain and aspiring politicians.  We now see how far they will go to hang on to power.  After the President’s terrible debate performance Obama shifted his strategy to lying about Mitt Romney’s position on the issues.  He had to because Romney not only schooled the President in regards to economic policy but he also countered all of Obama’s claims in front of 67 million viewers. The President lost a great deal of credibility … Read entire article »

Did the mainstream media’s bias contribute towards President Obama’s terrible debate performance?

We all know the mainstream media is in the tank for President Obama; but did their bias and unwillingness to ask the tough questions throughout his Presidency contribute towards the President’s terrible debate performance? Looking at the debate from a slightly different angle I believe it did.  In an effort to shield President Obama from the impact his terrible economic policies has had on America the mainstream media has not only done themselves and the American people a great disservice, but they may have unknowingly sabotaged the President’s debate performance last night. By not holding the President’s feet to the fire when abysmal economic numbers were being reported quarter after quarter for the last four years the mainstream media didn’t do his administration any favors.  By not asking the President to … Read entire article »

Pain is a powerful motivator

If you believe polls, most show President Obama with a slight edge over Mitt Romney going into the debates.  This edge has left many pundits scratching their heads wondering how Obama can even be in this race.  After all he has presided over one of the worst economic recoveries in our nation’s history.  Unemployment has been over eight percent for three and a half years, we have lost our triple A credit rating, slipped from first to seventh in global competitiveness, increased our national debt by $6 trillion with nothing to show for it, lost 662,000 jobs to China since 2008, and the list goes on and on.  Jimmy Carter presided over an economy that had in average unemployment rate of 5.8 percent in 1979 and lost big to Ronald … Read entire article »

America haven’t you had enough of Obama yet?

I’ve been digesting the events of the last few days and I must say I’m deeply concerned about the future of America if Obama wins a second term.  There are very few times when I have trouble finding the right words to write but this time is different.  I’m struggling because I’m frustrated and I’m done with this administration. I’m frustrated with this administration because of the lack of leadership they have displayed when one of our own is murdered by an angry mob in a country we currently give financial aid to and one that we helped liberate approximately one year ago.  I’m frustrated because their first instinct is to apologize for some obscure video that very few have heard of instead of sending a strong message that America will … Read entire article »

Why I didn’t watch President Obama’s acceptance speech…

I decided not to watch President Obama’s speech because it really doesn’t matter to me what he says.  I know he’s a polished speaker.  He’s a master at spinning a tale for the misguided and uninformed.  They hang on to his every word and gobble it up like candy believing that only Obama can lead America out of darkness and into the light.  They don’t care that he lies or that he says one thing and does another.  It doesn’t matter to them that Obama’s policies have failed and that we’ve become more dependent as a people on the federal government.  They view government as a benevolent entity that exists to right the wrongs of society and grant new rights to different groups who believe they are entitled.  Obama’s speeches … Read entire article »

Ignorance is bliss…especially when it comes to being an Obama supporter

Over and over I have written about the ignorance of the average voter in America and how the left uses this ignorance to advance their agenda.  I’m feeling pretty good about the 2012 elections but I wanted to take this opportunity to remind people why we should have cause for concern.  Back in 2008 Obama supporters were interviewed after they voted in the below clip and it was actually quite revealing.  Check it out. So let me see if I’ve got this right.  Obama supporters back in 2008 did not know who Harry Reid, Barney Frank, or Nancy Pelosi was.  They did not know who controlled the congress at the time.  They thought Sarah Palin said that she could see Russia from her house.   And based on the interviews they got … Read entire article »

It’s time for some honesty from both the politicians and the Super PACs that support them…

Let’s face it we have some very serious problems in America that we must address soon.  Our national debt is spiraling out of control.  Our liberties are being eroded away as more and more regulations are forced upon us.  Our free market system is under assault and unemployment continues to remain at 8.3 percent.  We’re at risk of losing it all.  We may actually be the first generation to leave our children an America that is worse off than we found her.   And you know what, our elected officials don’t care.  The only thing they care about is getting reelected and tearing down their opponents; even if they and the PACs that support them have to lie.  See an example of this below. Folks we deserve better than this garbage.  We … Read entire article »

I am what I am because I’m the master of my own destiny

Can you say that you are masters of your own destiny; that you control your own fate?  That all you are and all you will become is based on the decisions you have made or will make in this life; a series of choices that lead to life events with more choices to make.  Or do you believe your life is predestined and no matter what road you travel or what choices you make it has already been mapped out?  There is so much I don’t know about life, but what I do know is I am what am because of who I am and I’m living the life I have chosen.  And it’s good. I don’t envy those who are successful and wealthy because being master of my own destiny … Read entire article »

Saturday morning thoughts: What are conservatives trying to conserve?

Some time ago I wrote an article titled “I’m not the same conservative I was five years ago.”  In it I tried to explain my own evolution from being a conservative who blindly followed the establishment narrative to one who no longer was willing to give the establishment a free pass.  I learned that big government statists were not limited by party affiliation.  In fact many statists can be found in our own conservative party.  I decided it was time to take off the party goggles and view the issues through the eyes of an American who loves liberty.  It took some time and a great deal of reading to course correct my direction but when I did I realized how wrong I had been about many things.  It made … Read entire article »

Obama: Using the gay community

Yesterday President Obama came out in support of same-sex marriage and today the world praised him for making such brave move.  A brave move would have been coming out in favor of same-sex marriage back in 2008 when Gallup poll numbers showed only 40 percent of Americans supported it; but that wouldn’t have been the politically expedient thing to do.  Instead he waited for more favorable poll numbers on the issue and announced to America and the world how he now supported same-sex marriage and the left lapped it up.  Many on the left proclaimed that the President’s position had “evolved” as if those who oppose gay marriage are living in caves still marveling at the advent of fire.  But has the President’s position really evolved or is he just … Read entire article »

Teeing it up: A Round at the LINKs (The ‘Buffett Rule’ edition)

You know what I’m sick of?  I’m sick of the President peddling his class warfare crap in an attempt to take the focus off the real problems that are hurting each and every America.  He doesn’t want us to focus on things like out of control government spending, unconstitutional actions by his administration, over regulation of our economy, monetizing our debt, the national debt, 8+ percent unemployment, and the rising cost of food and gasoline.  He doesn’t want us to focus on these things because when we do we will be able to connect the dots right back to his failed policies. I wish people in America would take the time to do the research whenever he proposes something.  Take the ‘Buffett Rule’ for example. If people would just do a … Read entire article »

President Obama calls it Social Darwinism; I call it liberty…

This past week when President Obama stated that Paul Ryan’s budget proposal was “thinly veiled social Darwinism.”  In an attempt to understand exactly the context in which he was using the term Social Darwinism, I watched his speech again.  After all Social Darwinism has such a negative connotation that surrounds it I wanted to make sure I got it right.  So based on my observation he is stating that Paul Ryan’s plan promotes individualism and free market principles that rewards the successful for their efforts and actions.  This in-turn creates a larger inequality gap in America because where there are winners there are also losers.  I think I got that right.  Well this would explain why he has such disdain for it.  He doesn’t believe that individualism and the free … Read entire article »

Flexibility is the key…

One of my first supervisors told me that flexibility is the key to success.  I asked him what he meant by this and he explained it in the following way.  He told me that organizations that were unable to change and move in a different direction in response to changing environments were destined to fail.  He pressed that flexibility was needed at all levels so the entire organization could shift and be responsive during times of change.  Now that sounds great in an ever changing business environment or in the heat of battle; however when a politician says it in the context of giving something away for nothing, well we should all stop and take notice. It’s time to drop the contraception debate and focus on what Obama owns

One of the most frustrating things for me is to see how easily the left lures our side into debates that have very little or nothing to do with serious problems we are facing as a nation.  In the last three years our national debt has increased by $5 trillion, we have lost our AAA credit rating, the FED has monetized our debt causing value the dollar to plummet, unemployment has been at 8+ percent, gas prices have skyrocketed, a record number of banks have closed, the housing market is still flat on its back, massive regulations have been implemented, the EPA is out of control, scandal after scandal is being uncovered, and the country has never been more divided.  This is the world the President owns and this is … Read entire article »

Broken Promises: Obama eyes cuts in healthcare benefits for military families and retired military

Here’s an idea, in order to fund unconstitutional entitlement programs, extend unemployment pay outs, and drive military retirees into Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges, President Obama is proposing cuts to the healthcare benefits of military families and military retirees by dramatically increasing the costs.  Yes that’s right; the promise made to our military members now means nothing.  The one thing that our elected officials are required to fund per our constitution (a military) is now on the chopping block in order to help fund all the other unconstitutional programs our representatives support. Talk about backwards thinking.  These cuts are targeted at our active duty and retired military members.  President Obama has decided that unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits are untouchable.  How’s that for fairness.  So let me see if I’m getting … Read entire article »

Obama’s job approval at 50%: Are you kidding me?

Has compromise become a placebo for the ignorant?

Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines “compromise” as a settlement of differences by arbitration or by the consent reached by mutual concessions; something intermediate between or blending qualities of two different things.  Compromise is a part of the fabric that is our nation.  It has been this way since our inception and throughout our growth as a nation.  Some compromises have been successful such as those reached during the Philadelphia convention in 1787.  It was through a series of compromises our constitution was crafted and later ratified by the states.  The Bill of Rights was the result of a compromise between federalists and anti-federalists.  An example where compromises ultimately failed were those made prior to the civil war.  These compromises only acted as a placebo and ultimately could not avert a bloody civil … Read entire article »

Stephen Moore’s Fairness Quiz for the President who believes in fairness

I found this little nugget yesterday.  Stephen Moore, a writer for the Wall Street Journal, created a Fairness Quiz for President Obama.  The President is always on his soap box claiming things in America are not fair for the average citizen.  The richest one percent are getting all the breaks and not paying their fair share.  Well maybe he’s on to something.  The following are a few questions about fairness that Mr. Moore has for the President.  Enjoy. Last night I decided I wasn’t going to waste my time watching the president tell me for the umpteen time how he has a plan to create jobs by spending more money we don’t have.  We’ve been there, done that.  So instead I took my lovely wife to dinner, enjoyed a good meal, and came home just in time for the Packers Saints game.  On the way to work this morning I was listening to Mike Church and one of his callers pointed out that our President implied that our constitution was a rigid idea.  So needless to say I had to hear it for myself.  Below is a clip from that part of his speech last night. The Gibson Guitar Company Case: Why it should matter to each of us

I wasn’t really paying attention to the Gibson Guitar story because I felt there were more important issues to be concerned about.  I initially thought it was nothing more than a red herring to divert our attention from more pressing issues such as the Fast and Furious investigation and the EPA’s relentless assault on our energy industry.  Let’s face it with the way our liberties, constitution, and free market system are being attacked through overregulation and a total disregard for the law of the land, does anyone really have the time to worry about the Gibson Guitar company and their dispute with the federal government?  So I filed it under the “not so important” category and moved on.   This is until I read an article about the story this morning … Read entire article »
